I had never been up here before, I just took my dog, some water, and some string cheese up to the end of the paved road. I ended up hiking the "wrong way" (not in the direction of Mt Pinos), but the point was to see some beautiful forest and get away from it all, and that's what we did.
The trail is very wide at the start, but turns to singletrack quickly
I bet this meadow is gorgeous in spring:
Shady, quiet, cool.
When did this burn? Can't have been the Day fire - all these trees are still alive.
Small rodents and lizards beware
Breathing easier
I wanna camp here!
Mountain Prozac (escape to Mt Pinos)
