Distance to Crystal Lake from Islip Saddle

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone happens to know the aproximate distance from the Islip Saddle trailhead to Crystal Lake.....If so what is the best route to take to get down there. Hwy 39 or Pct trail up to Windy Gap down to the basin. Thanks

Well, strictly speaking, that part of the forest is closed last I checked, although I really don't think people on foot are going to damage anything.

I don't know the distances on 39, but according to the trail signs:
2.1 mi - Islip Saddle to Little Jimmy TC
0.3 mi - Little Jimmy TC to Windy Gap
2.5 mi - Windy Gap to Crystal Lake CG.
4.9 mi - TOTAL

If you had a bike, I'd follow R39 south and then east (as it goes), then up to Crystal Lake. I often ride my bike down from Crystal Lake back to near WFork on R39, so I'm not too sure as to road status (for a bike) between Islip Saddle and CLRA Entrance.
