Perhaps Ryan can enlighten me on this. Last Sunday Norma and I hiked up Mt Markham, looking for the 5th class route (AKA "Ramp Route") decribed on SummitPost. I even hauled a rope and a light rack up, but all we found was the typical chossy crap that comprises most of the San Gabriels, with the exception of a couple of short stretches that I would call class 3. Thinking maybe we were too far north, I then traversed around south on the way down (ripping up my arm in the process  )--sort of "circumnavigating" the east face--all to no avail.

What gives, is this a myth or am I "navigationally challenged" :P ?

From what I gather, it looks like this:

Bring me along. I'm itching to get out.

By any chance are you interested in getting out sometime in the next week or two on the weekend to check that and some other spots out?
