Matt summits Mt Whitney!

Matt Maxon and a couple of his buddies are on their multi-day JMT trip. Just got this SPOT message from them. Now, check out exactly where the green arrow is pointing....about 200' from the summit, would you say??

I told him I didn't think he had the guts to near-summit Mt Whitney. :shock:

Looks like they're on the high ground east of the Smithsonian cabin.

If they're any further east, I hope they brought a parachute. I knew Matt was into canyoneering, but I didn't know he was into BASE jumping!

I was delirious with AMS trying to not summit! When I saw what I thought was a nice chubby kitty that was lost so I followed him calling here kitty kitty kitty...

The next thing I knew I was on the summit! :shock:

Nobody told me of the marmot sirens of Mt Whitney :evil: :roll: :oops:

Damm! other NHPS members beware the Marmot Sirens of Mt Whitney!
