Matt Maxon and a couple of his buddies are on their multi-day JMT trip. Just got this SPOT message from them. Now, check out exactly where the green arrow is pointing....about 200' from the summit, would you say??
I told him I didn't think he had the guts to near-summit Mt Whitney.

Looks like they're on the high ground east of the Smithsonian cabin.cougarmagic wrote:Matt Maxon and a couple of his buddies are on their multi-day JMT trip. Just got this SPOT message from them. Now, check out exactly where the green arrow is pointing....about 200' from the summit, would you say??

If they're any further east, I hope they brought a parachute. I knew Matt was into canyoneering, but I didn't know he was into BASE jumping!
I was delirious with AMS trying to not summit! When I saw what I thought was a nice chubby kitty that was lost so I followed him calling here kitty kitty kitty...cougarmagic wrote:I told him I didn't think he had the guts to near-summit Mt Whitney.

Nobody told me of the marmot sirens of Mt Whitney
