Question about a trail near the Bridge to Nowhere

I visited the Bridge to Nowhere yesterday. I think I saw a trail to the west of the bridge leading up a ridge to who-knows-where. This is approximately where I saw it:

Does anyone know anything about this trail? How to get to it, where it goes?

You can actually see some of that trail marked on the topo map you linked to. But it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

If you down load this map ("sid" format - there are free plug-ins that you can download that let you view it) it shows a bunch of old trails in that area. Looks like the trail might have been a way to bypass the narrows by going above them on the west side.
