Twin Peaks 3/28/09 T/R

Did a hike to twin peaks today from 3 points trailhead, hoping to do some hiking with crampons up to the peaks.
The weather was perfect, cool and clear in the morning and a little warmer in the afternoon.
It was a “tail of 2 trails” : The trail from 3 points to Twin Peaks saddle was virtually snow free. Shortly after Twin Peaks Saddle, it was time for crampons. The snow was simply perfect. Firm with a soft crust on the way up and a little softer on the way down for easy plunge stepping.
The views were great in the morning - a little hazy after about noon.
I had the trail all to myself and only saw 1 person about a half mile from the trailhead on the way back.
This is the first time I did this trail and I definitely will do it in the summer and next winter when there is more snow.
GPS showed a little under 14 miles round trip.

Thanks for the great pictures. Don't know how you managed to cross the west peak glacier field - simply amazing :D . That trail from 3 points to Twin is beautiful with a deceptively high round trip elevation gain.

Cool pictures of the southeast ridge too!
