After skiing powder at Baldy ski area the last few weekends, we decided to do some local backcountry. I only know of a few good intermediate backcountry areas in Southern California and mentioned the details of Sugarloaf to my girlfriend, which she thought sounded good. The name reminded her of the scene in the Arrested Development episode Spring Breakout, when Michael attemps to sing the Sugarfoot theme. "Sugarfoot,Sugarfoot. Easy-loping, cattle-roping Sugarfoot."

From that, we developed a new term for when snow sticks to your skins while skinning up Sugerloaf...Sugarfoot.
Luckly, I was breaking trail and the snow did not stick that bad to the girlfriends skins.
Looking down the skin tracks:
Girlfriend nearing the top:
She got a little sugarfoot after venturing out of my skin track near the top:
The snow skied really well and was much better than I expected. I made a couple runs on the upper part.
Low angle powder > no powder.
Near the bottom of the open area:
Didn't see anyone else on the mountain.
~2000 ft elevation change.
