Did the Mt. Wilson Trail today. This time was much more enjoyable than the last time I hiked here. (100 degrees and swarms of gnats & mosquitoes) It was drizzly for the first mile or so, then just clouds.

Didn't hit consistent snow cover until 5200'. It was around 30 on top with about 2" of snow on the ground.

It started snowing pretty heavy for about 10 minutes as we were leaving the top. The snow tapered off and turned to drizzly rain around 5000'. Once below 2500', visibility was much better and the drizzle stopped. More pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/markspicccs/MtWilson5650#

Hvydrt,

The map at the end of the pictures was to difficult to view, did you start a Chantry Flats?

Nice TR, great Pictures - I've sat at the very bench with my dog eating lunch when we went up there.

Started in Sierra Madre, took the Mount Wilson trail. I would like to hike it from Chantry one of these days.

EnFuego- You have NEVER done the Wilson Trail? Since we're hiking buddies now, you've gotta do that one with me. Great workout!
