Cy, Thanks for posting, great pictures.

Any chance of getting the exact route they took? Where they parked? Etc...etc....etc...

Looks like a very challenging yet fun climb and Enfuego is looking to do it in early April.

Thanks

Looks to me like they started either on Millner Creek Canyon end of road or somewhere north of there on Jeffrey Mine Canyon end of road?

I have an email into him on another board asking details.

Looks like the perfect two or three day climb with conditions other than pure snow.

I'll post or he may even post on this site through Cy from the San J blog site.

We will see.

This party ran into Rick Kent (or vice versa), who was day-hiking the same route at the same time.

Thanks for posting Alan. Rick still had time for taking a lot of great pictures and socialising - all in one day - awesome 8)

With the optimistic weather report and limited snow on the ridge I couldn't pass up the opportunity ... plus getting to meet up with some of the strongest hikers/climbers around was a real treat. I may have to sneak up on these guys again sometime ... hehe.

Rick has a habit of sneaking up on people.

The route is described in detailed on Summitpost. We took the south spur of the West Ridge. One can gain the south spur anytime on the road to Jeffery Mine. However, gaining it earlier is better imo. We did the north spur of the West Ridge last summer as a dayhike and it has more bushwhacking. It is a fun route but the two scree slopes at 9K' and 11K' are killer. :x

Rick - I read your report and saw your pictures. I commend you brother, nice trip you did. 18 hours round trip? Sounds long, but the kind of long is very rewarding.

Nice report Kevin, great details and great information.

Rick is one hell of a day hiker - I hope to aspire to that amount of elevation in one day.

Great work both of you.

Hope to see you on the trail sometime.
