I was able to get the OK from the family to hike Sunday morning with the condition I was home by noon. I decided to finally hike Pacifico from Alder Saddle off Santa Clara Divide Road, however I found that the gate was closed just after the 2nd camp. Change of plans, I headed to Goodykoontz instead. I drove just past Eagle Roost and parked at the large parking area for Mount Williamson. I hiked up the PCT and then took the trail towards Mount Williamson. After a short visit at Mount Williamson, I continued on past Williamson towards Pallett Mnt. However, instead of heading down the unual ridge for Pallett I headed in a westerly direction from the high point north of Williamson (this is actually the peak that I thought was Pleasant View Ridge previously). I followed the ridge all the way west and then south up to the summit of Goodykootz Peak. I then headed down the southeast ridge back to the parking area (I think I may have entered the closure area just a tiny bit, cut the corner). It was a beautiful day and a nice hike.

Here is the GPS tracks and a Map.

No worries, they can't prove anything. One thing though...your legs might turn yellow. It happened to the frogs!

Travis:

I went to take a look at your Google map, but I got the following message: "The Google Maps API key used on this web site was registered for a different web site. You can generate a new key for this web site at http://www.google.com/apis/maps/".

Maybe it's just me?

I am working on that, thanks for letting me know. I also did up a Summitpost Page for Goodykoontz.
