I went for a hike on the EFSG this past Sunday, and as usual, I stopped at the market at SW corner of Azusa (Hwy 39) and 9th St (I believe). I've been stopping at this market for the past 25 years or so, to buy last minute goodies before heading up into the hills. I guess it's become more of a nastalgic stop, than anything else, because when I stop, I don't know what to buy since I alredy have everything. So I usually grab a cup of hot joe or cocoa.

Anyway, this past Sunday, I inadvertantly left my Forest Adventure Pass in another car, so I stopped to pick up a day pass. They were out. "WHAT!" I cried. And the manager proceeded to tell me that the store was closing in two weeks and the store did not replenish there stock of parking passes.

Apparently, the City of Azusa has bought out all the stores in that little shopping center, along with a few neighboring lots as part of a revitalization project that will happen over the next 3 to 5 years.

Good bye Ranch Market. You will be missed.

Revitalization project = condemn local businesses to sell the land to well-connected developers who will put in national chains and a BMW dealership.

It's a scam.

Simonov,

That's funny because the add (By Google) under your post/blog was for Ford F-250 when I pulled it up and viewed it.

BMW not allowed but Ford is?

Whoever is the last to post at the bottom of each blog page gets an ad in the bottom of his post - it just so happened that Simonov's was an add for Ford F-150's when I read it and found that to be funny.

Who know's what will show up when this posts under what I write here.

My best guess is it will be Radio Shack or something?

Simonov-

I believe the Ranch Market center has been slated to become a Target store...

Forgot to mention (FWIW) -

Haven't seen an add in over a year...

I use Firefox browser with the NoScript add-on and, voilà, no advertisements.

I think the ad only comes after you post a message. Here's the ad that was under your message:

Yes, but he means he doesn't see an ad from anyone. For those of us poor slobs still using IE, we see an add at the bottom of the last post in every thread. Mike doesn't see any ads. Ever.

HJ's correct. I get zero ads... none whatsoever at any time...

Not to hijack this thread, but, it is very handy to use Firefox with the NoScript add-on for this type of use. I also have IE but use it for only certain needs. (Some websites run best on IE.) I also use Google's Chrome browser (rarely) as it works quite well with some of their products. FWIW...

edit: Ad Block Plus add-on is also good for blocking ads on Firefox. Thanks, Jim for the link. ...NFI in Firefox or anything web-related :)
