Yesterday (Saturday) the snow level on Skyline was down to 2800 feet and snow shoes were needed just to get to half way. This is an improvement from Wednesday and Thursday when the snow level on the tramway road was down to 2000 feet which forced the closure of the road and the tramway.
Snow at Long Valley was four feet. Kathy made it to just above Wellmans Divide (9900 feet) and was helping the rangers break trail. Even with snowshoes she was sinking in about one foot.
