There has been change..to the worse. But it hasnt been too bad because access is SAR.
I dont include Angeles/park and go in the forest service because its unique...esp SAR. The are some top notch NPS teams..so there you can get deeper access.

The forest service should be better, because the mission ...

Yeah, its Judy Chu crazy.

She has no problem with closing a NP for everyone for her feelings...sarcasm.
Altadena residents know the answer is not to close but are going to adapt.

But yeah, the govt signalling that any rain/snow/wind they cant handle is going to set the mood.

The feds wildfire have a dispatching software system...most agencies do too.

They have a manual for it so the capabilities are known.

Hmm...the thing is that place has a nice view of Strawberry. I went there say in 2006...way before the mgmt was given to Socal Edison.
Btw, where do you park for this Alder Creek trail, cause its a lot of no stopping signs. Because....well, of that situation..ahem.

Nifty...the almost 360 view is a good intro to the wilderness...which again, people dont recognize and leave trash.
I had said that it gave a view of the falls..that is not true..I was mistaken on that.

east fork road open til Camp Williams store....with stop signs and not the closure sign.
eastern Rattlesnake peak is burnt (again), no signs at Shoemaker, so open.

In picture top of Iron Mountain good...and Heaton Flat campground..and restroom at parking lot ...

I started up south of C. There was a communications platform near the bottom....along with the fixed ropes. But the hunters used a different path like A.
The ridge was not brushy in 2014...except for one part, and that part is basically guaranteed to brushy today.

We should expect no firefighting in wilderness areas, so its about to be free to burn soon.

Fire is burning to the north and east, Sheep Mtn wilderness. South is done.

The Superscooters are here and got put on the #ApolloFire(Lancaster, currently 500 acres). Not the best intro as there was a photo-op first.

Should say that this trail is savage. On both ends.
At Islip Saddle its is overgrown near the parking lot already.
And at South Fork...it basically does not exist.
