Re: Henninger Flats water status?

Spigot was working as I suspected. Just needed to be sure. If you do call them though, they will deny that water is available. The spigot is technically not public knowledge.

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on staying at Upper Fuji...most of the time, the troops stay down below near the museum.

Re: Henninger Flats water status?

Heading up this weekend for a quick one-nighter with the little one. Has anyone been up recently that can confirm if the spigot by the restrooms is still working?

Thx!

Piedra Blanca Camp - Water?

Wanted to find out if anyone has been up to Piedra Blanca recently and can tell more about the water condition on the creek?

Planning on taking my daughter this weekend and would prefer not to haul extra water if it can be prevented.

Thanks!

Cottonwood Lakes 2015

Took my daughter this past week on her first Sierra experience. We spent a couple of days on the Lake to fish, relax, and explore. We camped at above 11,000 feet...neither one of us had any elevation issues, we both had a great time. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/photobucket/i65/albums/h223...

We were probably the ones who laid those tracks for you. We hiked up to Windy Gap (on 12/13) with the intent of spending the evening at LJ but decided to car camp at Crystal Lake once we saw how much snow there was at LJ. Great photos... https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/photobucket/i65/albums/...

Aspen Grove to Fish Creek - Water Info

Hey guys,

I have a few friends who will be hiking to Fish Creek this weekend via the Aspen Grove Trail in the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Does anyone know the current water conditions on the area?

Thanks!

Re: 4 Person tent

I agree with the above. If you already have a 2P tent, it might be a better option to get another 2P tent. However, I disagree with the weight...there are options out there for a light 4P tent - if you decide to go that route. Here are some options for a 3P/4P tent: https://www.tarptent.com/hogback....

Epic shot of the bighorn! He didn't seem the least bit worried about you. I see a fair amount of snow on the ground. I am planning a trip up Icehouse in a couple of weeks and wondered how much the trails were covered past the saddle. Could you see the 3Ts trail from the saddle or was it buried? Jus...

The bighorn was really awesome to see up close. Hopefully from the added photos below, you can see how big he was. The amazing part was, he didn't run away as I slowly approached him...he took his time and let me snap away. Really great to see. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/photobucket/i65/...

Ontario Peak on Saturday 11/30

Spent the evening at Kelly Camp on Saturday and dayhiked to Ontario Peak. Snow conditions after the recent rain dumped some snow but the trail was manageable with microspikes. No water at Kelly Camp but had enough snow on the ground to allow us to melt water for our food. Some photos... https://eisp...
