Thanks for the report and photos. If I ever meet a genie and he grants me wishes, I'm going to use one on you and make you eat and drink properly on these trips. You scare me with your heart issues. I'm glad you saw a rosy boa. I've only seen one as well.

Congrats, and thanks for the report! Looks like an amazing hike with a class 3 notch too. The notch needs a better name though. And if you're ever in a pinch you can sign a register with your blood.

Thanks for the report and photos. It's a pretty rocky area, so that and the moisture often saves some of the higher zones. It would be interesting to see if some of that sediment has cleared out yet

Thanks for the report and photos. And thanks for placing a sticker on the register box. The thing about going to Ross is that I kept thinking of the return climb, so it was a mental drain in addition to the physical aspect. But at least there wasn't any poodle dog back then. Seems like this hike ...

Thanks for the report and photos. I too dreaded the return climb over Baden-Powell, when I hiked this route many years ago. I ran out of water and my hands started going numb. But I met a friendly couple on the PCT who fed me soup and I lived to tell the tale, haha.

How plausible is it that she made that sequence of mistakes? Each individual mistake is plausible, but all of them together? <shrug> I have no idea how to judge the mind of a lost person in distress.

Sometimes I edit posts in order to trim unnecessary quotations. It is not necessary to quote an entire post to which you are replying, and doing so clutters up the thread. It's easier, however, to do the editing myself rather than to train members on the proper quoting etiquette. So, please carry on ...

I find it hard to believe that an experienced hiker who was a high-achieving scientist would completely lose her sense of cardinal direction in that area, an east-west ridge, with the area bounded to the north by the ACH, and to the south by the Three Points Trail.
