Re: Bear Creek

I don't know about the water level, but are you entering via the West Fork? The San Gabriel Trailbuilders crew did some work starting from the Smith TH, but I don't think they reached the creek yet.

Re: Misaligned property lines

My guess is that the assessor data is correct but doesn't properly overlay on the topo map due to technical issues not worth exploring.

Colin would have blown you away with his knowledge of music. He also knew several languages and worked professionally translating the captions for movie subtitles.

Pretty sweet. Thanks for the report. So, there are no major obstacles going north from the crag to the Alder Creek Trail?

I uploaded a memorial hiking video of Colin. Thanks to Paul, Keith and Cecelia for additional photos. It's still hard to accept that he's gone.

We had plans.

Re: Post Fire (Gorman, CA)

The caltopo fire-activity map doesn't show any hot spots anymore. I guess that means that it's burning very lightly at the moment, and now's the time to go try to squash it. Probably. That matches the CalFire summary. They're saying minimal fire activity now. Screenshot_20240619-174713-830.png

I don't know. It depends on the managers. They can do what's necessary, even though it's designated wilderness. But there tends to be less access, since they don't build roads through wilderness areas.

Looks like the fire has reached the Sespe Wilderness.

Good news, though, is that crews have kept it from jumping the freeway, and containment has increased.

Re: bbcode for clickable latitude, longitude pair

I CAN trivially make it url-like. Do we want that? Is it possible to decorate the resulting link, so it looks distinct from a normal URL? Syntax is easy to remember, so that's good. Make it distinctive with the context of your sentence and the display name of the link. Click here for a topo map of ...

Re: bbcode for clickable latitude, longitude pair

I added the bbcode to one of your earlier posts . Worked ok, after I removed the space after the comma. Definitely ot a big deal, but it'd be nice to have clickable links. I added the link to the rest of Rico's Utah TRs. Thanks for creating this cool feature. The only non-intuitive aspect is having...

Post Fire (Gorman, CA)

The Post Fire started yesterday afternoon in Gorman. It's already over 12,000 acres and only 2% contained, heading toward the Pyramid Lake area.
