Re: Tuolumne Meadows to Mammoth on the JMT
@ Uncle Rico-- Taco parked at the Reds meadow area to meet me near Devils postpile. We just did it that way cause I wanted to see the postpile, which i didnt see after all. it was dark n i was pooped. no logistical reasons though. oh, and at Sean again, the shorts were fine actually as it was a wind...

Tuolumne Meadows to Mammoth on the JMT
was trying to run from Tuolumne to Mammoth yesterday, and made great time the first 12 miles, then got into lots of snow and lost the trail often, which made running impossible, walked the next 15 miles and trudged through snowfields, and crossed over 20 snow melt creeks, most ankle deep, alot knee ...

Re: 4 Mile Trail to Panorama to JMT
ya, its not very steep though, so that makes it easy. compared to Snow Creek trail or the Grand Canyon, those trails gain 1000ft per mile, 100ft every 10th consistently, thats hard. This ele gain on my new route gains and loses that 8000ft over a long distance, with downhills and flat parts in betwe...

Melvinator was good! hes got a mini safety-harness Taco made for him and i clip it to a loop by the side pocket so he cant fall out even if I fall. also, for anyone who may be visiting the area, that trail is now posted as "Closed Indefinitely" by the NPS as of this morning. its gonna take...

Panorama trail on a sunny clear day
its wasnt all thunderstormy today on my run, so i could see stuff this time. i did another 15 miles on the 4 mile trail to panorama to jmt, again. the JMT was cool cause there"d been a big land/rock slide. so i had to spend some time getting down it and helping some tourists find the way. the t...

@ Longcut, ive adopted scott jurek's eating style, and have found my recovery time to have improved incredibly! by like 100+ percent! i totally doubted all the benefits, i thought maybe he was special. but I gave it a try and after only 3 weeks of no processed foods/refined sugars/flour etc. and no ...

longcut-yus, i am havin a friggin blast :) ....but like Taco says, we do have pretty crappy jobs, by crappy, i mean too many hours- it really cuts into my running and his climbing time. , but you have to start at an entry-level to get in here. and at least we dont live ina city. And, we'll be switch...

Re: Water at Ski Hut (Baldy Bowl)?
you guys dont just take a couple waterbottles? When i go there, even the long way from the village, i have more than enough water if i bring 2 24oz and my 1 handheld 20oz. ive never even thought of refilling anywhere, and that was taking the long way in late june and early july. You must be some thi...
