Thanx for the advice CM! I will leave the trail more often, and scan areas by creeks n stuff in areas i know that i never see bears! I will find one and get a pic eventually! i need sneaky-cameras like yours, maybe then ide get one.

I'll probably run up there again this thursday since the camps still wont be open (merced camp opens the 28th), So hopefully ill see the mom bear and her cubs and get a pic of em this time. Im also keeping an eye out for mountain lions. But since humans murdered bout 90% of the ones that lived here ...

@ Beantown- 15.5 hours 730AM til 1100PM. I think hikers do it in 2 or 3 days though. ya, its not very steep though, so that makes it easy. compared to Snow Creek trail or the Grand Canyon, those trails gain 1000ft per mile, 100ft every 10th consistently, thats hard. I know of this man from my dad who is also a trail runner. he, Pete, was in runners world in the 70s i think. he ran Pikes Peak, too. and many others. he should be more well known than he is.

longcut-yus, i am havin a friggin blast :) ....but like Taco says, we do have pretty crappy jobs, by crappy, i mean too many hours- it really cuts into my running and his climbing time. , but you have to start at an entry-level to get in here. and at least we dont live ina city.
