No. this post was from June last year. This trail is now covered in feet of snow. I go snowshoeing up there now cause its winter. there are no flowers at 8000ft in january out here. And the lake is frozen. AND, that creek my feet were in is frozen too! No way am i puttin my feet in there right now!

huh, mine always tracks EXACTLY where i was. never in strait lines. it just follows where i went. ive never seen the strait line problem. i hav the garmin foretrex 401

Aside from the points already mentioned, I would say being in great conditioning can actually hurt. You can withstand going anaerobic for longer (happens more quickly at altitude) so you can withstand keeping a high vertical ascent rate. What causes this? Ive never had it. Ryan says cause i live higher. But, even when I lived in Palm Springs, and went up to over 10,000ft, i never got it.
