Re: Dumb Thoughts While Roaming

Sometimes I try to solve for 4 unknowns with just 3 equations, in my head. It keeps me from worrying about 3-headed lizards that could be hiding in Sean's favorite spot, waiting to pounce. It also keeps me from really wasting my time trying to figure out where that spot is. https://www.youtube.com/e...

Re: Rubio Canyon Watershed Trail Conditions

The connector from Lowe Sam Merrill to Rubio shows definite cutting throughout and trail work on the lower section. The upper section has erosion which is significant in one spot but the trail is still easy to negotiate in that section. That trail was brushed extensively over the last few weeks. Tr...

Re: The Andrew Curtis Tungsten Mine

I’m down to go back! It was definitely a memorable trip but it’s also super gnarly of a hike up that wash. No trail and just boulder hopping for miles while completely exposed. @charlescurtis1984 wanna join us? March 2009, there was an excellent road all the way up the canyon to the mine! I turned ...

Re: Big Iron

Question to the Gabes experts around here. (of which I know there are a few) Is Iron Mt worthy of its reputation as the most difficult peak to summit in the Gabes that has an actual trail of some kind up it? Anyone think there is a more challenging summit? Of course anyone could MAKE a peak a bigge...

Re: Mt. Islip anniversary hike

I'm pretty sure Crystal Lake is on a fault which is what probably created it... I found a 1938 Master's thesis by John C. Wells. It looks like he was the first to argue for the existence of two faults within the basin. He calls them Crystal Lake Fault and Soldier Creek Fault. As against the prior g...

Congrats Ryan. Tremendous effort in mind and body, discipline and control.

I happened to be looking at your dot moving toward Lompoc, so I kept watching to see if you would stop and sleep. You stopped, so I zoomed in to see where you were. No, not a hotel or campground or park. Taco Bell for the win!

There is an outside chance I would do this (at least in part). Any idea of when you would start and the route?

I won't do camping, so I would just show up in the morning on Sunday. With donuts.

I saw him pass by a Venice webcam earlier. Completely by chance. Were you trying to solve a murder mystery? https://www.youtube.com/embed/yEddsSwweyE Yes. Exactly. Yes. BTW, I noticed he stopped at the Taco Bell for about 15-20 minutes in Lompoc yesterday. Fucking brilliant idea to stock up on bean...

What about Firefox/Firefox settings could cause the issue?
