Re: SAR Seeking Help Identifying Location In Photo

They didn't say when that photo was sent to the caller (just says "earlier in the hike"). Might be helpful to know what time. If it was afternoon, he seems to be looking north-ish.

I will review my photos this evening.

Re: The Burrito express

Yesterday I had a beef, bean and cheese burrito (spicy) from Burrito Express in Pasadena.

I had to take a nap afterwords.

Just saying.

Wear the whistle around your neck or else it's useless when you can't get to your pack, etc.

Wildlife expert at Pasadena Humane says Racoon. I'd rather run into a bear than cross this racoon's path!

Anyone concur or disagree with this ID?

What critter made this pile in my driveway last night? It's about 5 or 6 inches long.

You know, I wonder that if you're the type of hiker that gets lost, would a map do you any good? Would you know what to do with it? Is that AW's point?

Be aware that you'll pass near Desert Marksmen Shooting range on your way from Emma To Cole. A bit disconcerting.

I propose to rename Mt. Baldy to "Big Boob in the Sky with a Wee Little Nipple" Mountain (or Mount Saint Boob for short). Who's with me? I like Wee Little Nipple. It really rolls off the tongue in a pleasuring manner. Taco beat you to it... https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/photobuck...

I guess I'll be the one to ask. After all it's the elephant 800lb gorilla in the room.

Did you actually see the sacred gorilla? THE Sacred Gorilla, or just a run-of-the-mill sacred gorilla?

Guerrilla perhaps?

Re: Sugarloaf Peak

Nice TR!

IIRC the "by-pass" is just to the left of the falls, closer than you'd expect. I think my first try was too far left, so I backed down and tried closer to the falls. It worked so maybe that is the trick. Others hopefully will chime in.
