Surprisingly, this thread makes more sense than most.

There is a firebreak that goes straight up from Henninger's in the far SW corner that is a lot faster. If you take the shortcut up to Henninger's from the fire road, you will be right next to it. I'll second David's recommendation. I took that firebreak on the way down from the heliport back in 201...

Did you stop by and check out that little fenced in area just above the heliport?

Probably an obvious bit of info, but it is verified!!! First hand!!! Road is closed starting at Old San Gabirel Cyn Road.

There are some very high water falls running on the west side of the cyn, visible from the closure pt.

Is there a name for them?

If such pictures exist, then I do not recall anything. I'll deny that it is me. It is, in fact, not me.

That section of the toll road above the bridge failed spectacularly 15 years or so ago. The gabion baskets are part of the remediation of that slide....
