There was a video/story of this story on the LA Times blog. Apparently the vid showed a very reckless motorcyclist. When I got to the vid it was not accessible.
Love the SGMs - Be safe all.

Mt Waterman Question
Hi all, Went to Waterman yesterday. Wanted to do the Waterman trail, but somehow missed it and took one of the fire roads up to the ski area. Upon return I found the singletrack Waterman Trail. At the top of Waterman I poked around the ski area and top of chair #2 and #3 ridge.Looking south from tha...

Re: Man shot to death at Chantry
Getting some good updates here: http://www.sierramadrenews.net/ 11:45am UPDATE: Just spoke to LASD again. They stated that the suspect is still at large at this time. She again stated that there is a press release on the way, however, this time she stated that they are currently editing the release....

Re: Man shot to death at Chantry
Today I did the hike from Sierra Madre to Mt. Wilson. At the Observatory, the Police would not let hikers go down the main trail. I thought they found the body at the observatory, but maybe they were searching for the suspect. If you are going hiking in that area tomorrow, expect the police to stil...

Re: Man shot to death at Chantry
Looks like the victim's car is missing. My take is that this happened near the main road. I may be wrong. Not a lot of info. Wonder if this was a car jacking or a deal gone bad. Sometimes it's a crazy mixed up f'ed up world.

Re: Trail-runners...?
Trail runner / scrambler here - used to enjoy Arroyo Seco before the Station Fire. Run a few ultras. Some good local races on dirt (shorter distance = Baldy Run 2 Top, Mt Wilson Trail Race, Lasse Viren in SM Mountains). Rose Bowl is local so I hit side dirt trails instead of pavement --- Hahamongna ...

Hey Ted --
Is this Buckhorn trail? Wanted to do this within the next few days. Think YakTrax and trail running shoes could handle it?

Re: Mt. Waterman Trails (from Buckhorn or Three Points)
Hey folks --
Looking for a short trip up in the snow to try our my Yak Trax -- Would Buckhorn to Waterman (Trip 60 Trails of the Angeles) be doable. It seems to be a regularly frequented trail. I hike to the top then run down one of the roads. Think it's relatively safe?
