Sorry, no Spot to be found today. Man, that lower trail is icy coming and going! I hit up Throop, Hawkins, Middle Hawkins and Islip today. Had the place to myself until about noon when I SWEAR the entire Asian race descended onto the trail! I met at least 35 kind overly dressed folks between Windy G...

Thanks Dragon. I really don't want to drive in from the west and add 30 miles and BS to the trip. So I can access from the 138, right?
Just day-hiking Islip, I'm too sore from running down Monserate yesterday.

How is the Hwy 2 access for Islip Saddle? Can I get there from Hwy 138? I dread going thru La Canada!!

Road conditions were fine; we had a thin layer of ice at 7AM but I'm sure it'll be clear now.

Great trip with great friends to tag BP and Burnham today. We broke trail in 6"-12" of rather gooey snow from Vincent Gap to BP and onward to Burnham. Winds were terrific from the NW at a sustained 35mph with gusts that just about knocked me over. Spindrift was tasty as well. Still a beaut...

So it snowed SOMEWHERE yesterday; what are the chances that I really can get to Vincent Gap via 138 - SR2 tomorrow? San Gabes are confusing to me.....
