I would say yes, but very slowly. I drove it last year, in a truck and dont remember any big problems. I remember the worst part was after San Sevaine, toward buck point.

After a thorough analysis of the photos, I have concluded this deer was clearly killed by the Chupacabra.

Re: Mountain Lion Hunter May be Removed from Post
I have seen nothing suggesting that the guy lose his freedom. He had his freedom, he exercised it, and he still has it. It seems like Mr. Richards is not free to engage in a legal activity without suffering reprisals from those who don't agree with what he did. That is true of just about everybody ...

Re: Mountain Lion Hunter May be Removed from Post
I'm guessing I am in the minority here, but I feel bad for the guy for the amount of flak he's getting. I'm not a hunter and the thought of shooting a big cat is pretty sad to me, but he flew out of state to a legal hunt. It seems a bit sad to oust a man from his position for doing nothing illegal....

Re: Twin Peaks and Bear Cub
That was John and I (Mark) that you saw near the saddle yesterday. Neat sighting! We were'nt so lucky, saw lots of lizards though! We started from cloudburst and also took the more direct route from waterman to twin but we opted for the swithbacks on the way back up to waterman. The forest around tw...

Pine Marten?
This was the second time I have seen what I think is a Pine Marten. I was able to get a few pictures this time. This one was near Mt. Pinos. The other one I saw a few years ago in the southern Sierra. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JpW4wCVsDv0/T8L0JBns0QI/AAAAAAAAJ...

Great sightings! My only so cal bear sighting was on the road. I saw your hike posted on so cal peakbaggers and have wanted to hike in that area but I couldn't make it that day. Maybe next time. Glad you went for it anyway.

San Gorgonio Summit Camp
I was waiting for winter to show up before doing a trip to the higher peaks but decided it wasn't going to get any better this season. 4 of us backpacked up the south fork last Saturday and camped on the summit of San Gorgonio. The trail varied from ice to slush to mud between the parking lot and so...

I carry a Gerber Mini Paraframe and also a standard utility knife blade in my first aid kit. The gerber is lite, small and cheap.

Mushroom pickers lost hope, considered eating dog......
I am glad they are OK, but I find this story amusing. Wild mushroom pickers with 4 Chihuahuas and a pitbull that live in a fifth-wheel trailer at a campground. That is awesome.

Re: San Gorgonio trail conditions
Yes, the parking lot for Vivian is closed. I was up the south fork yesterday. The trails were very icy through out the day. Off the trail coverage is thin. Not enough to completely cover the brush and downed trees. Off the beaten path the snow is unconsolidated and requires snowshoes for efficient t...
