Very cool. I am always hoping to see one. I have seen more wildlife mountain biking than hiking, I guess because you are going so much faster and sneak up on them.

Baldy Fatality??

This was on the San Gorgonio Wilderness forum: Summited Baldy via the Bowl today (11-27-10). Arrived at 11:00am and ran across SAR on the Sierra Hut Trail. A middle aged man had a stroke and fell off the trail below the Hut. Unfortunately he did not survive. A group of hikers who witnessed the fall ...

Another Baldy Trip Report 11-22-10

I have been trying to hike new peaks and explore other places, but I couldn't resist checking out the snow from the weekend storms. I had to work for a few hours in the AM, but after a stop at Chipotle on Mountain Ave, I arrived at Manker Flats at 11:45. It was warm for the first few miles of the hi...

I have went down that way many times and nobody ever said anything. I even found a ski under there once and gave it to the lift operator. He didn't say anything about not being under there. It seems to me if you can walk down the backbone through the resort and up to Thunder Mountain to the 3 t's tr...

I don't think the forum is going down. It seems to go in waves. I bet once the first big snow comes activity will be back up. Towards the end of summer and fall people get tired of posting/reading about a walk up Mt. Baldy in Sunny and clear weather........ I like the idea of creating a better url, ...
