Re: Big Horn Mine
Under the big old building, it looks stable. I think it is impossible to get into the tunnels as they are barred off.

So I was wondering if it is legal and safe to camp in the structure of the Big Horn Mine, it looks like it would be a lot of fun? Has anyone ever done it?

Three T's TR 12/30/12
Well I intended to Summit Telegraph this Sunday but weather conditions convinced me to do other wise. I left for Baldy Canyon with bright blues skies but as soon as I hit Icehouse Canyon the clouds already started to roll in. It was 29 degrees in the parking lot so I left with my jacket on but took ...

I guess I will find out soon enough (I have done C2C before). We are planning on doing Langley in September and C2C in October. Langley should be about 400 ft lower with about 1500 less gain than Whitney.

So Google does have the answers for everything. Great pictures, I did Whitney last year as a through hike from Horseshow Meadows. I want to do it as a dayhike sometime. How is it compared to C2C?

Smith Mountain Trip Report 04-01-12
Took the wife with me to Smith Mountain off Why 39 just below Crystal Lake. Beautiful day but just a little windy and cold. Ran into about 5 other people on the trail. I did not do the scramble to the top. The trail for the most part was in great condition. Here are the pictures I took. http://www.f...

Baden-Powell TR, 02/12/12
That great part about the trip was it was right after a small snow storm so there was fresh powder everywhere. Temps were pretty cold and the wind did not help out much. We put on our Kathoola’s just before mile 1. The trail was pretty easy going with a few sketchy parts. Once we hit the first plate...

Three T's
So we hiked the Three T's for the frist time last Saturday. Beautiful weather although it was a little windy on the NE side. It was chilly only because we were sweating and the wind was cooling us off. I was supprised how little use that trail shows. Not only were we making fresh tracks the entire t...

Re: Pacific Crest Trail (Cajon - Little Jimmy - Soledad)
I remember doing this hike in the sumer and the first part was steep with some exposure then later on the trails was easy to follow as it was cut through the trees. The top was a little more open and merandering. In the winter I imagine the top wouldbe best going straight up. What is the general con...
