Re: Car Camping?

Small group of friends, drinking around a fire. We arn't bros looking to wreak havoc. We are more likely to sit and talk video games than play beer pong in the woods :)

Re: 2012 Basic Winter Mountaineering Clinic

I am very interested! Depending on date will depend on how much gear i can gather by then, but i will beg, borrow, and steal (okay not steal..) if need be.

I can't wait!

San Gabriels in Winter

I love the San Gabriels, and have made it my summer hiking home the past few years, and this year i wanted to introduce myself to some winter hiking / climbing. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or know of any groups that go up throughout the winter for this sort of thing? My end goal is...

Camping Memorial day weekend

Is there any place anyone can think of that i may be able to walk up or reserve for next friday through the weekend? I know this is horrible timing with the long weekend, but was wondering if any camp grounds anyone would recommend? More trails around the better! Thanks!

Re: East Fork to Narrows water level / conditions

Thanks!

Are there any other fun hikes in the area that would be good to bring a first timer on, that wouldnt involve too much snow?

How does everyone think this hike might be this weekend? I havent done it before so not too sure what to expect other than feet will get wet.

Or any other decent day hikes anyone would recommend?

Re: Ice House Canyon Trail

I am so glad I went! We only got as far as the saddle as my first timer was kaput by then. It was beautiful out, with some minor difficult icy spots that we were able to cross pretty easily. I think it was colder up there when i went last may than it was last weekend in February. I am also glad i we...

Re: Ice House Canyon Trail

Hi Everyone!

I haven't hiked around San Gabriel's in this time of year before. Does anyone have an idea of what Ice House may be like this time of year? I want to take a nice hike, and don't mind a little snow, but i don't have crampons or anything.
