Headed up to Mineral King this past weekend. I've been wanting to go here for years and finally set aside a couple days and drove up early Friday morning. Weather was nice and mild, and the skies were perfectly clear. Forecast for the night had a low of 20 degrees though, so we packed a ton of layer...

From my experience, Buckhorn is probably the most laid back of all of the campgrounds, mostly because it takes the longest to get to so the really rowdy bastards never really make it up there. Definitely worth the drive up (which isn't a bad drive at all) and some nice easy hikes in the area too.

Anyone we know? Hope not :shock: Sean, We're probably heading up Good Cyn tomorrow. We're thinking of parking down near Icehouse, crossing the road and heading upstream to the mouth of Good. I always like trying to identify peaks when I'm up there. If interested, here's my take on the view from Langley:

The trail from Vincent Gap down into Mine Gulch is easy to follow all the way to where it meets the Prairie Fork. From there if you're continuing further down the East Fork, you're on your own, but navigation is obvious through that stretch anyway.

Awesome report. I've been eyeballing Good Canyon for a long time, still haven't gotten around to heading up there yet. You just vaulted it back up to the top of my list. Thanks!
