ok enuf of that. The BBC contingent was up there on Sunday. The trail was mostly dry or slush and then above the hut was fresh dusting of snow. My friend's teenage son made his first Baldy summit via the west bowl, up and down, wearing instep ...

There is absolutely no snow in the bowl.

Very nice pix. I guess the cloud cover / hail helped keep the wind at bay? You're right, very strange....we had horrible winds when we tried it this year and got turned back because of the storm :evil:
