Ginkgo Biloba

Can anyone tell me if they use Ginkgo and find it to be effective? I'm especially interested in what Dr. Hackett says about cold hands:

"...Ginkgo really helps peripheral blood flow in the cold, and at high altitude."

Re: WEBSITES - Post links to useful websites!

Calimountains.com looks interesting. Suggestion: How about a thread for the Santa Ana Mountains, the lowly-bastard-stepchild of SoCal mountain ranges that has no forums on any other BB that I know of. . SoCal Trailriders is pretty much all about the Santa Ana Mtns....as viewed from a MTB. http://ww...

I'm tired, my quads are sore and I want to ride my bike.

"In such dire straits, even the most upstanding individuals have been known to raid the first-aid kit as a last resort. But mountain storms have a way of outlasting an emergency supply of Percodan or codeine, and a claustrophobic, smelly nylon envelope is not the best place to experience the he...

Re: Dubois, Wyoming and a couple of bikes

Moab was the best riding of the trip. Camping along the Colorado was fine - we set up at Big Bend. Having to choose between hiking thru Arches or riding Moab was easy - we did both. The ride out Kane Creek was fun and Hurrah Pass was a nice place for lunch and just hanging around. Moab from above Hu...

Re: Dubois, Wyoming and a couple of bikes

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah catches me completly offguard. We head in thru mesas of pine and brush with some monuments off in the distance. We make camp at South Point campground (nice, quiet spot) and head over next day to watch the sun rise over the canyon. The hoodoos are so unwordly in li...

Dubois, Wyoming and a couple of bikes

We hit the road for a ten day, car camping, low-budget. mtbike kinda Nat.Parks tour of Utah and Wyoming. By the time we get to a very cold, gnarly Dubois, Wyo. we are over the stark beauty of Wyoming and limit the bike part of the stay to one decent ride out of town which ends with me calling it qui...

For those of us with more modest budgets I think a suitcase drone would be a fine tool to hang in the garage.

Well, as luck would have it, Limpy comes rumbling down Pineridge Road above Ukiah last weekend, just as we stop to pick some berries under a bridge. Limpy is the dominant male of the herd that hangs around this stretch of the road. A friend of Country Girls drives up as we're standing in the road tr...

Bear Spray

What are you folks using in Yellowstone? What flavors do G.bears like best? Where to find best deals on large cans? REI only shows the smaller/pricey cans. We're thinking of wearing one/two? cans apiece on the outsides of our jerseys/vests. Looking at Alaskan MTB'ers the cans are the size of 1 liter...

Nice work. Hitting it hard there it seems.

And what were the temps in the evening? Thinking of doing an overniter on Baldy and wondering whether a GI jungle bivy and a quilted solar bivy would be enough or just suck it up and bring the sleeping bag.

Re: The Firearms Thread

off topic sorta but, we're planning a trip to Wyoming and relative there said bring the bear spray but not the gun. Seems that grizzlies around that area in late fall/big eating time, are actually attracted to gunshots - thinking they can poach a deer or elk. Mess with one and you might get up close...

Comptche Ukiah Road. Nice stands of Redwoods all the way through. We stopped to check the thimble berries (sweet) next to this slide area. Big bunch of rocks came down on road as we stood there smacking down berries. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/photobucket/i280/albums/kk178/obie549/Ukiaha...

Re: What is this

Is this poodle dog? It's popping up around the Back Bay. Leaves have sharp, spiny edges and, after falling in a bunch, my leg was itchy for 1/2 day.

Really big efforts from the top three guys. Beast of a race but, hell, when you're young and strong - why not? 2700 miles in 16 days...unsupported.
