Re: PLACE YOUR BETS!!!!

My theory.. We've had a lot of summer blooms and fruit on plants that seldom produce any fruit or blooms. I am talking about the joshua tree yucca, gooseberry, wax currants, elderberries and thimbleberries. Spring 2013, Joshua trees had an extreme bloom, the biggest in 30 something years, according ...

Re: Allison Mine Trail

I disagree. Disney Land is probably more dangerous. Look at what disney land and it's movies have done to children, made them spoiled and rotten monsters, then look at what nature has done...made them better human beings. Most trails in this mountain range are not like yosemite trails, hwys for hund...

Guffy to Pine Mountain to Cabin Flat Loop 3/28-3/29

After waiting busy tables all memorial day weekend, I ended up with a day and a half off, having to be back a work on Wednesday night. The San Gabe high country sounded nice for a night. We decided to take the pine mountain to cabin flat loop. We parked at Guffy (the gate any further is closed), sou...

Re: Pacific Crest Trail (Cajon - Little Jimmy - Soledad)

A few weeks ago, after the last "storms", I road my bike up the 39hwy and summited Williamson and dripped down to Cooper Canyon. Little snow on Williamson. Few patches-no snow in the canyons. You shouldn't have to worry about any snow this April. The trails will be clear of snow, but I am ...

Re: A Burial for My Beloved Frog

It has been a while. I recently dug up the frog. All of the bigger bones were intact, but the smaller and cartilage bones where gone, eaten by worms. That said, I cannot put the frog back together, but only keep him in a jar on the same desk in my room where he spent most of his (living)days. https:...

I went just this past Wednesday at my school in costa mesa. My favorite film was about a boy who was the first in decades to cross the entire Asian continent via Genghis Khan's route. A true story of growing up and finding yourself. I suggest going to this film fest. The film tour also does prize dr...

Re: What are your favorite hikes in the San Gabriel Mountains?

A cross-country walk down Pine Mountain Ridge is my favorite. Lots of animals(big horn, squirrels, lizards), groves of wild-flowers(my favorite being Pin-Cushions), and amazing high country views. If it were the end of the world, as a last hurrah hike, I would start at the Acorn Trail in Wrightwood,...

Chemtrail weather modification keeping us dry. Nice new firebreak on the rim growing fuel in spite of it. The government only started chemtrailing because they wanted a way to control our pets, like our dogs and cats. We'll do anything for a cute kitten..- and that's when they start experimenting w...

A Little Chaco Walk to Newcombs Pass

The morning was mighty fine at Chantry Flats yesterday. The santa anita canyon welcomed us with its usual cool breezes and pleasant sounds. The breeze blew thru our Chacos and on our sweaty little toes. The birds were chirping and the beavers were gnawing, and the usual crowds were gone. We started ...

That Angel Bright wall looks epic. I bet the climbs are amazing. And it might not see as many climbers because it is such a walk for most.

Nice pictures. The landscape is amazing.

Things in the Trees - Icehouse Canyon

Last Monday, I woke up with an achy, sick, flu, cold bug. So, I canceled my trip to school and, with no work that day, I thought, "if you're sick, why not spend your time in a nice shaded canyon listening to the birds and the creek." Kate and I ended up hitting the trail around ten o' cloc...

Sounds interesting. This place is going to be a corny suncup scramble up the peaks. June is white. Bring the gear. So are you by yourself and you need adults to go with? If you cannot find anyone, and if your parents don't mind, you should just go up there and find some people who are doing the same...

So I thought I would give an update on where I went instead of the Sespe. Instead, I decide...

So I would like to do an over-nighter the middle next week. Wed-Thurs. This site is pretty cool. It has a lot of good ideas for exercise programs and training exercises for mountain athletes. Though, I think some of the sets consist of too many reps. What a pleasant day in Gabes. I had not been near (r)Ice House in a while. And with all the foot traffic, it seemed like the place to go if you don't have your waterproof boots yet. This was taken at Cooper Canyon Falls on Jan 6th, 2007.
