With word spreading that the Gillanders Three were preparing for an assault on Falling Fir Ridge, my team decided to beat them to it. And that's what we did. Ha ha.

That looks fun.  I don't know why canyoneering gets such a bad rap.

It's amazing how quickly that bowl melts out.  Nice view down the still snowy north face.

Nice. Miguel climbed the route a few days after you. That view from the summit of Charlton also lured me up the same couloir last spring.

Sweet. Trip reports that involve bailing before the summit are often more interesting. So . . . thanks for not summiting!

I once read that the majority of mountaineering accidents occur during the learning curve. Glad to hear you didn't fall down that curve this weekend!

OK, so one question. I'm probably confused, but why'd you guys go to Harwood-Baldy saddle ("A") en route to Fish Fork? Dawson-Baldy (B to D) ridge would block you from getting into Fish Fork ("C"), yes?
We crossed Harwood/Baldy saddle in order to get to Dawson/Baldy saddle and ultimately Fish Fork.

That was a memorable route in perfect conditions. Thanks to Patrick for being the driving force on this one.

Very nice, Burchey! Some Snow Creek veterans also got fouled up on that bypass recently.

Though the bowl is melting out, the snow climbing conditions were still excellent, at least in the early to mid-morning. The trail to the hut was mostly free of snow.

It was great to finally climb with Ty and Augie, and it's always a treat to go a lilbitmo with Patrick.

That was a CLASSIC itinerary! I'm definitely going to try that sometime. If I get lazy, I might just skip the first four attempted destinations and head straight for Icehouse Canyon.
