Lonely summits and peaks
Hey all, In my quest to go on new and great hikes. I wanted to if any one could recommend places were people seldom hike in Socal. On a typical weekend every one and their moms is up baldy or Jacinto! What peak have u been on latley where the register hasnt been signed since 97.

EnFuego, thanks it took your recommendation and i got that Sierra design hurricane! its really light and compress to a nice size.
I tried on the other one aswell and it feels like half the weight. but the guy said the other one repels water better! thx again

eons and eons ago. there used to be a sign and fence at the big falls below switzers. i went a year ago and they are both gone.......So go fig! as far as prevention there at to many options and one can just start to think too much. I think people just being cautious and not dumb is the best way to go.

Hello all. I am going to the sierras soon and i was wondering what to take incase of rain/hail I have a timberland rain jacket w/ hood but i want to travel light. I was thinking a down sweater w/ hood but not sure. will goto sport chalet tonight and see what they have!

yea really. let natural selection do its thing. They ruined any kind of nice fishing at piru. The road is closed and u have to carry all your gear now!

With the highs to be in the 80's to 90's this weekend in the higher elevations i was wondering what trails you guys have been on that make good Summer Hikes? Lots of shade/breezy trails? Mostly every thing in the front range in exposed =(

I like your idea and its nice to see hikes in your area on that map. But i agree wit hthe others. itwould be nice to see some original content. There are to many other hiking sites that just re-direct information!
