my buddy just emailed me and said that the mt lowe fire road ion FIRE!!
is the old taver ncampsite up there scorched too?
I remember seeing a cabin near a connecting trail rom dawn mine to that road....i hope hats not history!

why does the news just show the fire in the same area only.. we wanna see the whole forest and firezone! i dont wanna see any more burn charts or plots on topos........

so when im hiknig thru switzers or colb canyon in 2 months its gonna look like this?

hopefully the snow level will be 3500 feet like last year and cover up this bloodiness for winter hikes

took them 5 years to make the little bridge after islip saddle i can only imagine a clean up job

how did the fire get so uot of control. I have seen better fire combat for the other fires in the past year. when it was just a small blaze east of lukens. They should have had it out in a day

With the air being crap. And the forest on lock down. I was not gonna let it ruin my hiking. So ventured up north on the 5 about 20 mins past Six Flags. To Frazier park. Bagged Pinos - Sawmill - Grouse - Cerro Noroeste/abel Saw few deer......But more quails than Tacodelrio has taxidermed to his wall...

West baldy isnt really a summit or peak....more likea point of interest......
it is more quiet and peaceful than baldy tho

i been thinking of packing a brew and keeping next to a half frozen camelbak bladder. but always keep thinking wont stay cool by time i summit or get to piont of return!!!!

i noticed there is a fire road up there above the 134. I seen a foot path going up starting on the Holly st exit off the 2 by in-n-out. Can you hike this from that there to the other end of the range where Figeruoa ends at the park?

hiking does alot . im suprised they havent invented a pill or sports drink that does this yet
