Re: San Bernardino Peaks 2010/08/21

I did the Whitehorn trail on 7/18. On the way back from Momyer. Way too over grown.
I did ran into a guy doing some trail work but one set of hands will never be enough.

Re: Back Bone trail

Yes it would be a long day, but I was thinking more like 12 hours, 14 tops. Never did the math like you just did. Now you got me thinking. Still want to try it though. I thought of two other options 1. Still unsupported but brake it into 2 days, over nighting at Malibu Creek. 2. Have somebody (like ...

Re: sandstone peak

Trail head is at Wendy and Potrero in Newburry Park.

You'll be going up to Bonie mountain first.
Sandstone and Tri Peaks are not far from there.

Do you want to hit it Sat. or Sunday?

I have a ride for Saturday but I'd like to tag along if you do it Sunday.

It is the Norma and Camille I know.
Nice trip report Norma.

Next time you attempt this, let me know.
I always wanted to explore the Sespe area.

Did you see any rattlers?

Re: Light weight gaters

These people sell spandex type gators in every color and print you can image. they were like $12 when i bought some a few years ago. they aren't water proof, but they keep the pebbles and sand out. They are good for basic on-trail travel. http://www.dirtygirlgaiters.com/job.html website ways they a...

Re: Iron Mountain 6-5-09

We did Iron on 5/16/09
Coming back down was so hot.
Each one of the 2 of us brought 6 liter of water and drank it all. To me, it sounds kinda funny when you say ....You took your first sip of water at the summit.
