Re: End of the Adventure Pass?
let us all go in a group to manker flat or IHC and park cars without passes. maybe we can post a note saying "I refuse to pay parking fee !" have FS write citations all day long. let's have a day in court to dismiss the charge.

it is more of "a matter of preference" according to a historic opinion of an organization that bears the word in its name.

Jim-san,
Those are called Omikuji, a kind of fortune cookie thingy without a cookie. After you draw one, hang it on the rack (sometimes tree branches, fences, etc.).

Nice TR, GigaMike. Amazing, how quickly snow melts! A week before right after the storm, there were only 4-5 parking spaces at the parking lot. The rest was completely buried under the snow. I wasn' t the first one to get in that day, but earlier groups turned back, and I broke the trail for a while...

Thanks for the news.
New permit system may reduce the numbrer of accidents (due to less hikers), but does not change the rate of accidents (less hikers = less accidents)...
Glad I've done that before it changed.

On winter day hikes, I carry sleeping bag warmer or body warmer. I used it as a sleeping bag warmer when I snow camped. It's small, light, and really warm.

Wow, this is the subject I wanted to ask. Do you ALWAYS get a wilderness permit? Because prior to those two times, he called FS and permits were s...
