2 more city boy questions: Baldy & San Jacinto
1) Has there ever been a year where there has been snow on top of Baldy year round? A decent sized patch even.....?
2) Is it possible for you dare devils
to go up the north face of Jacinto when there is no snow to climb on, or do you always need snow?
Just curious...... again.![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Re: BALDY - Archive of Mt. Baldy-related Discussions
Hi Zach, Mmmmm, almost sure it was high up on the south face, maybe a little bit to the south west... It wasn't on a ridge, in fact, it looked to be in a very awkward spot... in area of loose, small rock, almost dirt-ish or gravelly type surface. I know I sound crazy thinking I saw this --- but am f...

When I swore I coulda saw a [yellow] bulldozer [not moving] way way up the face of Baldy, on a very steep portion of the mountain... W...

Very cool TR, Ze... I don't know anything about these mines, so I was wondering, this Widco mine, does it have anything to do with Allison mine? Don't know if this is really a question or a comment... but this photo, 'borrowed' from John Robinson's 'San Jacinto' book... Yes Cougar, thanks for this thread... it's times like this that I wish I had been around to visit all those camps. Such charm. Hard to believe in happened in LA's backyard. Always wondered what Indian Chief Thunder-Bird's connection/role at Switzer's was :?:  http://img413.imageshack.us/img413...
