Re: Living in civilization or living in the wilderness?

Holy crap, $40k? What were some of the things they'd require of you? Called my buddy yesterday - they sent him a list of what he could do/not do/had to do - but he doesn't have the letter anymore. When I made the initial call for him, I just remember the 'real estate' agent emphasizing the requirem...

Re: Living in civilization or living in the wilderness?

Far enough away that I can make extremely loud noises and nobody will hear me, and close enough to drive to someplace that has beer. and the way you drive, when you get back to the cabin, the beer will still be cold! Before Ice House became a freeway, I thought it'd be a nice spot. Re: Station Fire Congressional Hearing, Pasadena, 10/12/10

Thanks for the report there Cougarmagic! I am still puzzled at how this fire got away. It barely grew within the first 24 hours. Only miles away, merely days before, the fire near Morris Dam was knocked down relatively quickly. When the Station Fire broke out, the winds and/or temperatures were as m...

Re: BALDY - Archive of Mt. Baldy-related Discussions

I am amazed at the various, deceiving and often down right puzzling perspectives you can get when looking at the San Gabriel Mountains, specifically Mt. Baldy, from different spots in the LA Basin. At certain locations, the mountains can look like they are ten feet away, then you drive twenty miles ...

They're just warming up for the opening ceremonies at Crystal Lake Campground.

I heard Obama is sending the returning troops from Iraq directly to Crystal Lake's Campground to get them ready for the other battlefield.

I think I'd take the odds and stay in Iraq.
