Re: A Taco Essay
Taco - We'll discuss your use of grammer (or lack thereof) another day. You interested in a slightly used (actually used once with you on Lightning Couloir) Petzl Adjama harness? I'm getting different harness. I also have three ATC's, you're more than welcome to one of them. Got a hot pink one with ...

I'll be thinking of you guys while I'm fishing off Catalina Island for white sea bass and yellow tail. I should be back about 4:30, can make it to Manker by 7pm to meet up with the graveyard shift. I'll bring some fresh sushi for the night time summit teams. Taco - you got "One Cup Saki's"...

Re: 05-30-09 Mount Mills East Couloir Attempt
These red-eye climbs directly after long drives are tough. Yeah they are. In college, we used to do these all the time. We called them "suicide trips". It was much easier in college though. The drive home this past Saturday from Mount Mills was more dangerous than the climb I believe.

05-30-09 Mount Mills East Couloir Attempt
On Tuesday (05-26-09), some new light weight mountaineering/ice climbing boots I ordered came in, and, like a little kid, after seeing them all purty and shiny, I knew I had to break them in. So by the following evening, I had my route picked out: the East Couloir of Mount Mills. I left my house on ...

Re: Animal Tracks ID please (Sierra Range)
Thanks Cougar. I would say in these areas, I was on the shady side of a glacier and was not sinking but 4-8 inches at most. I think it's a mountain lion as well. I don't know how high they roam, but all sets of tracks were coming off a rocky moraine and heading downhill towards the center of a ravin...

Animal Tracks ID please (Sierra Range)
I did a solo trip this past Saturday up to Mount Mills. Just past Ruby Lake, I ran into three separate animal tracks. I'm pretty positive that these are three different sets of tracks, as they were scene on three different snow fields, coming from three different directions. These tracks were found ...

Bummer about having to turn around. Did you go with Jeff S. or rather did Jeff S. meet up on this hike with you? I got invited by Jeff to do Olancha Peak, but I had other plans about 125 miles or so north of you.

Regardless whether you agree with them using this bridge or their methods of doing it, I highly recommend bungee jumping - it's a rush like no other. And man, that's a lot of tents, even for a holiday weekend! I don't mind them using the bridge, not all, especially since they give us access to cros...

05/24/09 East Fork Zoo - Stupidity is Illegal
This past Sunday, over Memorial Day weekend, a friend and I did a quick trip to the Narrows on the East Fork of the San Gabriel. We arrived at the trailhead at about 7:45am and parking was already a nightmare. We had to park about 400 yards down the road. The entire canyon heading up the road was lo...

Taco - give me a ring. I can plot any maps you want as long as its no wider than 48 inches and no longer than 100 feet. I can plot a map of the entire San G's for you from the Topo! software program, but I think I still have the name of a guy in Orange that has some nice maps. You would just need to...
