Thanks for sharing the pix! I was there in July 2009 and it's amazing how little snow there is this year at the same time of year. I had hoped to get up there this summer, but since i don't have another 3-day weekend available, I vicariously traveled there in your TR.

Taco, I was on B-P on Sunday. On the downclimb as i plunged-stepped, there was only one small section that i did not hit the rocky base. It was still too thin of coverage to want to try glissading, unless you like blood. :twisted: Not sure if this week's storm dropped enough to make a difference.

Norma, barnies can screech like hell, too :) (barn owls) yes, i know but i have have Screech Owls. Barn's have that flat face, often white. Screech look similar to a Great Horned but smaller. Ever since we repaired the screen on my chimney the screeching and their numbers dwindled considerably. see...

Great Horned Owls don't screech. Young GH owls can make a screeching sound. But a true screech comes from a Screech Owl. No longer my friend after they made a nest in my chimney.
