alan, sorry about eric's ankle. hope your assessment that it's not too bad is accurate. i was hiking Mt. Ritter this weekend. while ascending the class 2/3 section near the summit i knocked a large rock loose with my foot. it hit a smaller rock (size of a fist) and as i yelled ROCK several times the...

taco,
you're not asking me for advice on putting up a photo are you? i can't even figure out how to load an avatar!!!!
but it would be cool to have a board pix in the fall when the leaves turn color in Icehouse Canyon, and a winter scene in winter, etc. just my .02 cents.

nice backpack and TR. you are always so thorough, thanks for your beta and descriptions. makes me want to check this place out also.
i'm glad your knee is better. it's nice to see your smiling face in the wilderness and not just on your avatar!

Six Peak Loop on the 5th of July
Phil (lik2hik) and myself did a nice loop Sunday from Manker Flat. We went up Register Ridge to Harwood, over to Baldy, down to Dawson, over to Pine, back up to Baldy and over to West Baldy. We both thought it would be hotter than it was and had cached water in the solitary snow slope on Baldy's nor...

HikeUp and hvydrt,
cool cloud pix! i couldn't figure out what kind they are, but they are quite interesting. my hike up FRC was in the winter, nice snow climb.
HU,
thanks for NOT posting a waypoint to the "resident." i'd prefer to never find that piece of used gear.![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

simonov, in response... siminov, i was on Whitney the weekend before and used crampons from the cables to Trail Crest. Backpack to the Palisade region
Dave G and i did a trip over the weekend in an attempt to hike Mount Sill. Turns out the recent snow in the higher elevations stuck! Who would have thought with the mild winter we were having that the punch it packed at the end would make 13,000 and 14,000 feet in the Sierra look like it was still w...

I want to go back there on a day when i can see the view. I have seen Iron from all the other peaks you mentioned, but did not get to see the other peaks from Iron in January.

Baden-Powell, Burnham and Throop 5/17/09
Dave G suggested a hike to Baden-Powell from Vincent Gap which swithbacks up the north side of Baden-Powell since the shade might offer some relief from the heat of this last weekend.
