Saturday morning, October 5th I set off on a modest hike to explore the eastern section of 2N24 (Rincon-Red Box Road) that I had previously missed. I parked just outside the gate on San Gabriel Canyon Road and was on the hoof at 0651. The ambiguous closure order on the gate left me a little paranoid...

What about the absurd notion of fixing the broken clusterfuck that is health care delivery in our fine nation, perhaps rendering SOME of this moot.

Sorry I missed you Dude! I Left Manker at 0625, summited around 0918, and was back at the car ~ 1120. My eyes are still burning from seeing the Pomona Speedo kids.

I hiked down this road on the 21st. I think the gate is less of an issue than the washout around 0.5 mile short of Lupine C.G.

You might also consider Valley Forge, hiking down from the Wilson road. Can't vouch for ice on Red Box - Wilson road though.

I hiked this trail three weeks ago, and several time in the past few years. I have plenty of pictures that I'll post, but not today.
