Re: East Fork to Fish Fork
Either way we started fixing up to spend the night and Patrick rolls in. He tells me I missed Zé and CougarMagic by MINUTES! Now you have to understand, back when I was trying to do Allison mine (unbeknownst to me, the hard way) I emailed Ze for some advice and he totally hooked up the info... so y...

Re: East Fork to Fish Fork
damn kids juicing up...
got a little bit on my lower back and upper thigh, didn't feel it until day (no sign of PO the day after is a very good thing). not surprising considering my failed brush acrobatics dropped me on top of some. but very mild and totally acceptable!

Re: East Fork to Fish Fork
Pretty cool also that you could see the Wetwater trail. I tried to follow that a ways in the late 80's/early 90's but decided the brush was just too brutal. The route up from the E. Fork is the more doable route. oh yeah, exploring the Wetwater trail (or allison - SM trail) would purely be about th...

Re: Yucaipa Ridge Last Sunday
I don't know if you would want to start on the ridge...I remember the HPS route description saying to start up the wash and then at some point go onto the ridge. I would agree - I came down the ridge and tried to continue down the ridge (past the point described) and it was covered in brush and pois...

fuck it. the ANF is incompetent. people from different cultural backgrounds don't treat the forest the way others do, so it ends up as shit. thanks, ANF

wow. I didn't realize the time duration of you getting down to him. that must have been quite a time of mental strain for both of you.Zach wrote: It took me over and hour and half to claw my way through walls of buckthorn, find the scree slope, descend, then climb back up to him.

Re: Fish Fork Canyoneering
wow, awesome & crazy. Bottom line, this is a very long canyon. It would've taken us 3 days. We may have started late (on purpose) on day 1, but it still would've taken forever. Since we found ZERO beta/info on this canyon, we went in with what truly belongs in a trip, what planned trips you know...

Ze, Great time. Would that be a “wind aided” 2:04? I was up there an hour earlier than you and damn it was windy… and cold. I stayed about 5 seconds and turned around and was home before noon. I guess it is getting time to start packing a coat and hat. thanks...there was definitely wind but don't t...

Nice stuff, Zé! You're a freakin' animal. I too have considered going up Grinnell Ridge as a method of ingress/egress, but it's such a long slog, and that Lost Creek trail was designed by drunk baboons. It takes for-freakin-ever to get anywhere. If I were to select a good jump off point, I wo...
