You want to stay at the nw end of this campground, practically across from the La Jolla Canyon entrance. There are large bushes that shield y...

KF, first off, the original post was not anti-hunting, it was anti-idiot. As for wolves, they were practically exterminated by 1974. Currently, according to the FWS, there are about 5700 Gray Wolves in the lower 48. http://www.fws.gov/Midwest/wolf/aboutwo ... drange.htm That is a hugely reduced popu...

Re: The Wolf at Trout Creek
How do you know that the population of wolves is endangered? Do you believe the garbage stats that the anti-hunters use to claim wolves are still endangered? Sources for your unsupported declaration of "garbage stats," KF? Those that protect animals like they are equal to man, treat them ...

Way out there! Long time ago, I helped a friend who had bought a 1/4 section of land just north of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park: set him up for his first winter. That is just about due east from where you are in Refuge Bay. The locals always said to take a guide into the bush because it all looks the ...

Beautiful place. We were last here 30 years ago when Susan was 7-8 months pregnant with our son, Roland. We started out with a group of friends, but as they were much younger, our pace was slower. They were headed for the high country out of Evolution Valley in a hurry! My wife was not in a hurry, u...

Teacups were great fun, as usual. My video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfqTVyiERqk There are a couple of outtakes at the end - including the sudden disappearance of one of our group at the "spout". There was more algae slime this time than I remember. How was the water temp? W...
