If something happens after October 28th post it here! I need some Sierra action before snow comes(not too much of it anyways). You said before November though and that sure is coming quickly!

I spent the night on San Jacinto last night, it was snowing all the way down to Round Valley but nothing was sticking. Got back to the tram real early but absolutely no white anywhere, very disappointing!

Re: Mt. Baldy 2009-08-29
Thinking about just staying on top and enjoying the stars/near full moon since I have 2 days off in a row. Going to run over to Dawson for the first time as well. However the smoke is getting worse as well as the wind is blowing it more towards Baldy. I couldnt even see the 3 typical mountains from ...

I love my jetboil, it boils water pretty damn quickly.
Also, are you looking for something for tea or for coffee? There is an instant coffee they sell that you let sit in hot water.

Re: Chanel Islands -camping-
I've actually been looking into this recently as well, it looks like a blast with easy hikes throughout the island. Santa Rosa is the way to go from the people Ive talked to as well as the least populated. Better to go when its chillier, a lot less people as well its easier to see the animals. Ive a...

What backpack do you have?
I've finally decided its time to stay out in the wilderness after all these times going out hiking. But I need to find a decent sized backpack that'll carry me through at least a few days. I'm 5'11, and need some suggestions! I'll be purchasing a new sleeping bag to go with this so the only issue is...
