Re: Prairie Fork - Lupine Road (3N39)

Anyone get out that way this weekend to see if it's open to lupine?

-edit. Today(Tuesday) they were bringing in a loader to move a 4 foot boulder and an even bigger tree to clear the road between guffy/the split to wright mountain and down to lupine. The ranger said they'd be done today or tomorrow

Anyone know the conditions of the trail up towards three stream crossing campground? I know the rain tore some of the lower sections up this past winter and am wondering if anyone has been up there.

Awesome day! Thanks Taco and everyone for their tips and tricks. Was a sweet way to summit baldy in winter for the first time. Thank you all. Especially thanks to Tracie who had an extra pair of sunglasses, and thankfully I'm not snow blind today! On another note, anyone hear anything about that one...

Re: Basic Mountaineering Orientation - Winter 2011

Anyone happen to have a gps track of their route from
the base of the bowl to the top? Interested in the stats as I've never done it and want to compare it to the normal route thru the trees. Would greatly appreciate it!

I was left wondering where mama bear was at as I drove down the mountain, chose not to hang around. I saw no sign of any other bear, but jut tons of people staring at the bear.

Poor bear is going to end up getting killed because of this

Welp found one, or at least a baby of one. It was roaming the cars of Manker Flats around 3 PM today. When I walked down from Baldy it was in someones open jeep and dozens of people were standing around. They all scattered, bear got out and went around looking at cars. Literally walked right up to m...
