Anyone happen to have more recent info than this? Hopefully some of the monsoon rains helped?
I was looking to head up FRC to Ontario and wanted to have some water for the walk down.
Thanks in advance

Re: Mt. Baldy Trip Report & Photos
Unless there's a decent cold spell here I doubt the bowl will really get into condition. It's really warm up there at night and it was in the 60s during the day. There is a healthy amount up there though, I postholed straight down the bowl in 2-3 feet of snow. Snowshoes though seemed way more practi...

Re: Mt. Baldy Trip Report & Photos
Those 3 goons you see going up the west side of the bowl were me and my buddy and a guy we met at the ski hut. We started up no problem but quickly started sinking up to our thighs every step, snowshoe time! After that made it to the summit no problem, but slow goin.
Beautiful weather tho!

Lets see if I can do this.. On the way in.. Its time to get out of here! Can kind of see the other side of the trail with the boot steps along the side, its all ice and fun to hang on to.. Same place as the first picture, just 50 yards up from that picture. For good measure I'm sure its way worse bu...

Re: Pacific Crest Trail (Cajon - Little Jimmy - Soledad)
I went up there for a quick overnight during the first of these weak storms. Many many patches of ice and snow along the trail, without traction my lady and I slipped a healthy amount of times, especially on the way out when the fresh snow covered the ice. Take traction if approaching from Islip sad...

Re: Baldy Bowl and Ski Hut Trail
Two questions! Where can I find said pictures?
And two, is it bootable? Supposed to be warm temps this week into next and I imagine there will be a pretty good foot path thru any snow, but just want to know that my buddies will be fine next Wednesday!

Re: Palm springs tram
Out of two times eating at the cafe, both times the food was mediocre at best. Service was so slow and everything is crazy expensive.
I'd just take the tram up, go outside if your brave, and have a drink at the bar to warm up, can always order an appetizer there.

I'll post some pics from ski hut trail in a tr tomorrow, but there's a healthy amount of snow up there. About 3 inches at register, going up to almost 5-6 inches near hut. Was sweet.

I'm absolutely there. Had a blast last season and was just fun going up baldy with a healthy amount of people.
Hopefully conditions will be a little better for adding a little bit of danger to the self arresting scenario. Soft snow = meh

Re: How do I keep coyotes out of my yard?
Bigger dogs don't always work either. A neighbor in chino hills had his 90 pound lab attacked during the middle of the day by a coyote. It's pretty crazy. Then about 2 months later a coyote tried to carry a baby off and they sent in fish and game and killed something like 22 coyotes. Sad. http://www...

Took the road up today all the way to Joe Elliot, where the heck is the tree that is so famous? I couldn't find it Definately high clearance necessary, scraped a branch on the washout right before the campsite. 4WD handy if you get stuck there. Heres some pics of the washout(with tree branches place...

Honestly even on weekends manker flats rarely fills up. You do get the occasional ruffians being loud tho as it's real easy access from the city.
If you don't mind driving the distance I've found guffy is always great, better views of both the desert, iron-baldy ridge, and the valley lights.
