Re: The Station Fire Thread

is echo mountain and ins pt still alive? The outlook is very grim for the foreseeable future I've given up trying to predict what this monster is going to do, and have written off most of the western half of the Angeles as this is what the fire "managers" have done. We'll just have to wai...

Re: The Station Fire Thread

The RED areas are the most currently actively burning areas Yeah sure let the whole thing burn... Most of it hasn't burned in a while Just another prime example of Forest Service mismanagement As I've always said, some of the worst things done to the Angeles has been at the hands of the FS Policies ...

Re: The Station Fire Thread

After watching this fire for some time now it has become readily apparent the fire fighting strategy is to not fight it They let all of Yerba Buena Ridge burn to Riverwood ranch burn before trying to do anything Haines Cyn and Pipe Cyn are now burning. Zero effort to fight it All they are doing is s...

I noticed a perimeter map on the Inciweb info page I have it out for carbon dating as they have no date or time on it, but it looks like the fire I saw on Thursday Morning 8/26 I extracted this relevant info and viola! This GE image shows the areas of Active burning detected on the pass overs at 5:50 GMT and 10:14 GMT (10pm 8/28 & 3am 8/29 local) Seems strange the fire has retreated to it's "core" (mostly) with an extension toward Colby Cyn and upper Arroyo Seco toward Red Box I'm not sure where othe...

Not good, any way you cut it

We'll have to wait for the smoke to clear to count our losses, some gains maybe as PO and pot farms will be trashed for a few years... Little solace

I hiked up to Mt Lukens road and had a peek It appeared to me the majority of the fire was below ACH in Dark Cyn, I couldn't see down the highway so I don't know what the heck was going on down there. Re: The Station Fire Thread

I would think they can easily contain this between ACH and the Mt Lukens Rd, right? Well you'd think so.... LA County is probably all over this one, lots of houses on the other side of the ridge While the weather is hot the, wind is not bad, humidity is very low as measured at clear creek teens and...
