Re: The Station Fire Thread
There seems to be some further gains in the Twin Peaks, Waterman Mtn area, though there "appears" to be a spot fire at Three Points :( The fire is holding outside of Santa Anita Cyn still and it seems to be confined to the West Fork on the SE Claw Seems to be little activity on Pacifico Mt...

LA Times is reporting that Stony Ridge Observatory on Mt. Mooney and Camp Colby in Upper Big T. have survive the fire. New brusher just broke out in Rolling Hills/Palos Verde near the Torrance Border. Any word on Loomis Ranch area? I did some hiking down there with the Son of the owner a year or tw...

Re: The Station Fire Thread
The Beast is now mostly out of the urban interface though it is very stubborn over toward Magic Mtn, wind could push it down to Sand Cyn, Santa Clarita in a very short time. There is a bit of renewed vigor below Pacifico Mtn over Bare Mtn and SF Little Rock Creek The main action is in the SE claw of...

The data shows the Beast at the head of Santa Anita Cyn
If no effort is made here it's likely gone, since there are no transmitters or homes in there......
Pray for rain as the FS won't do a thing

Re: The Station Fire Thread
Are we/should we be worried about Buckhorn? Newcomb's is awfully close - too close for my comfort. Until this thing is out everything is in danger But Buckhorn is quite a distance away, even if the wind was to pick up I'd venture a guess that it is 2-3 days away I've been going to Buckhorn since I ...

Oh. So by southern, Matt meant eastern. Clear as a bell! :D I assumed that Matt meant all of the ANF except for the rather sizable Santa Clara piece to the north and west of the San Gabriels. I was hoping that Matt was wrong. Alas, he was evidently right. Yes, I kind of had figured out what he had ...
