I've been wanting to do this route for a while now. Sounds cool.
I've heard there are some illegal grow sites south-westish of Lilly Meadows. ?

The question is how the heck did you get that shot dima? Were you trying to get the bee or was it just pure happenstance?

Good scratchy fun.
Here's a few more pics from the outing. The last one is us playing Black Jack on Black Jack.

I grew up in the Wasatch, but spent most of my time hiking the canyons around SLC. Never hiked out of Ogden. I guess I should have. Good stuff.

Re: Kelly overnight
I got a ULA Circuit, it shaves more than a pound off my load. I got a custom ULA Catalyst last year. Coupled with swapping out my bag for a blanket and ditching my water pump in favor of a Platy Quick Draw Microfilter, I was able to shave a couple of pounds from my load. Like you, I'm still adjusti...

Cloudburst
Anyone else get caught in that random cloudburst Sunday afternoon? I was just west of the Mill Creek Summit on the PCT when the heavens opened up and the rain came pouring down. Then it turned to hail. I was ill-prepared for inclement weather and got completely drenched. When I made it back to the A...

"As of May 2022, the popular swimming hole, “Little Jamaica,” near Littlefield, Arizona is no more. The ADOT has closed-off access to the area below where the man-made swimming hole was located and it appears the swimming hole has been dismantled based on our view across the river." https:...

Re: The Butt Crack, World's Narrowest Slot Canyon In St. George Utah
Little Jamaica was just above the Virgin River off the I-15 near Beaver Dam. You used to be able to park along the freeway and drop down to it. It was a spring that fed into the Virgin that had several crystal clear pools and lush vegetation. I don't think you can get there anymore (if it even still...

That was a fun day in the Gabes for this old man. Really appreciate Sean for arranging this outing every year. And much thanks to everyone for coming out to hike with me. Great seeing everyone again and putting faces to screen names. But Elwood's still gonna be Elwood and HikeUp's still gonna be Hik...

Re: The Butt Crack, World's Narrowest Slot Canyon In St. George Utah
Way back in the olden days when we would walk to and from school bare-foot in the snow and it was uphill both ways, we'd go to St. George every year for Spring Break. We'd go to the butt crack at night time when it was dark to make it more exciting. There's a big established trailhead and parking ar...

I went up Liebre in the fall. The black flies were out in force and I came across camo dude carrying weapons to kill Bambi.
Liebre is one of the few places locally where you'll find California Buckeye. It grows on the north-facing slopes along the lower switchbacks as you start climbing.

I was up at the saddle with the rusted out cars yesterday. If there's a use trail to the summit of Jasper, I didn't see it (but I also didn't search that diligently). That north-facing slope is pretty dang shaggy from all the rain we got. Accessing the south-facing slope is a challenge for other rea...

I have an Icehouse project, I would like to shut down the road above Baldy Village to everyone except the residents. The whole area is way overused. IHC isn't worth hiking anymore unless it is a weekday and Baldy is an embarrassment. A van will be by later today to take you to a re-education camp D...

I've come up from the Burma side. I didn't see any reasonable (for me) route to the Pinnacle from the south/east. The road walk isn't terribly interesting to be honest.
